Highlights

  • The first Historic Homes Tour happened in 1978 and was sponsored by the Kalamazoo Historical District Commission.​

  • Between 1978 - 2025 there were a total of 36 Historic Homes Tours

  • Between 1978 - 2025, there were 154 historic residences, buildings, and other sites included in the Historic Homes Tour. The neighborhood in Kalamazoo with the most participating properties to date has been the Stuart Historic Neighborhood. There have been a total of 62 properties in Stuart that have participated in the Historic Homes Tours. 

  • There have been 5 Holiday Historic Homes Tours over the years (1998, 1999, 2004, 2006, 2008)

  • Between 1978 - 2025, there were 17 years where the Historic Homes Tour did not occur (1987, 1989, 2009, 2011, 2012, 2014 - 2024). 

  • The Historic Homes Tour has had many sponsors over the years, including the Kalamazoo Historic District Commission, Stuart Historic Neighborhood Association (formerly Stuart Area Restoration Association), Downtown Kalamazoo, Vine Neighborhood Association, and Western Michigan University.
