On the Agenda
After a two-year hiatus, the Gazelle Sports Historic Walks return for their nineteenth season. Sponsored by Gazelle Sports, Discover Kalamazoo and the Zhang Legacy Collections Center, these free public historic walks are held during the summer and fall around Kalamazoo.
Lasting approximately 90 minutes, these walks, ranging from 1.5 to 2 miles, are planned and led by Lynn Houghton, Regional History Curator at the Zhang Legacy Collections Center and co-author of Kalamazoo Lost and Found. Lynn has put together 107 different tours since 2002 and will be adding two new ones for 2022.
These walks give those who attend a chance to exercise and learn about the history and architecture of the community and the various organizations and institutions that make it special. The walks are held on Friday mornings at 8:00 a.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:30 p.m. No registration is necessary. Starting points for the tours vary.
